Looking for the food source.

BL, Lauren and their respective handlers visited Dingo Farms north of Toronto near Bradford on Saturday. Lauren's handlers were looking to buy a side of beef and we tagged along because coincidentally, BL's FH lived nearby for the first few years of her life and knew the farmer. Dingo farms raises grass-fed beef, lamb, berkshire pork and free-range chicken. Their livestock is naturally raised, without antibiotics and hormones. He supplies meat to a few of the best restaurants in Toronto, Cowbell (one of our faves, and very close to the condo) and Jamie Kennedy.

Dennis Harrison - the farmer - gave us a nice tour of the farm and BL got a good look at where his food comes from. We took home about 8 different things from his freezer and this morning we had the best bacon we've ever tasted (it was actually the first bacon BL ever tasted so he is unfortunately destined for a lifetime of disappointing breakfasts when they fail to measure up).

BL drools over the potential lamb chops.

BL and his girl Lauren in - you guessed it - barnyard daycare, while the farmer's kids play on the compost heap in the background. For some reason BL just ends up in a cage on weekends. At least he had company this time.
