Lake Erie Weekend

BL and handlers spent a great weekend with Deb and Stuart at a friend's cottage on Lake Erie. It was our first time on the shallowest of the great lakes.

There was an ocean-like breeze off of the lake for most of the weekend, especially at night. BL was finally given a gift of his first kite - a present that had been in storage since his birthday, waiting for the perfect moment when it could be opened and used right away. It was a perfect weekend for flying a kite, it just flew up and stuck there.

It pulled so hard that BL kept letting it go and it had to be chased down. This led to the invention of the "kite tether" - with parts taken from the boogie board.

On Saturday morning we cycled into Dunnville, home of Muddy the largest catfish in the world.

We caught a few motorboat races on the river, and admired the couture of a few locals.

His favourite thing of the whole weekend was the hammock hanging from the cottonwood tree by the water. We spent 2 early mornings swinging in the hammock, admiring the lake, and watching the sun come up.

Thanks to Stuart and Deb for the invitation and the great weekend.
