Last winter, BL's MH picked up a "scooty bike" aka a glider bike for him - that's our name for a bike without pedals. Instead of training wheels, kids propel them Fred Flintstone style with their feet and glide when they have some momentum. They graduate from scooting right to riding a 2-wheeler without the training wheel stage. Two kids on the street have done that already - it works. After BL's bike appeared, they are all the rage now on Humber Trail, from none last year to 4 of them just on our block.
This is a short documentary on how quickly BL learned to scoot - from walking on it to gliding and swooping down the sidewalks of Toronto. He goes everywhere on it now.
Nice scootin', BL. This documentary really struck home for me some of the major differences between where you live and where we live. We are SO small-town sub-sub-urban compared to BWV. I was feeling the angst and the excitement of growing up in a city while watching. Very different vibe. Cool. Where's the music from, BTW? Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteThe music is an out of the box Apple GarageBand sample file with a few instrument changes and extra verses to make it the right length.
