Fly Fishin'

BL and his MH tried some early season fishing. Since last year, BL has been taunting his dad because he managed to catch just 1 sunfish while BL brought in 4 rainbow trout.

This year, the MH landed the only fish of the day. His first using a Tenkara fly fishing rod.

He had an opportunity to even up the count later that morning but the fish got off the hook before it was close enough to net.

Tenkara is a simple version of fly fishing that uses a fly rod, a line, and a fly - no reel. BL managed to pick it up right away.
