First Fish on the Line

BL and MH go to Wilmer's Trout Ponds near Durham, Ontario to try and catch a few captive trout. We tried this a few summers ago but came away empty handed. This trip was very different.

After a quick stop at the Jug City in Creemore for some juicy worms, we headed to Wilmers.  This is lazy fishing - an unfortunate worm on a bare hook and some lead to keep it on the bottom while you wait for a rainbow or brown trout to come by for a meal. We didn't have to wait long before BL started getting hits on his worm. He is a naturally calm and cool fisherman, just like his dad.

... and here it is, the first fish he ever caught. He managed to pull in 3 more in the next hour before we called it a day. Dad managed to get a tiny sunfish...

BL was very proud to have fed the family for the first time.
