Ice Slider

It has been a fiendishly cold and snowy winter this year, at least by Toronto standards. One thing that BL loves about school is the opportunity to play with his buddies in the morning before the bell rings. He's always trying to get to school early so he has the maximum amount of play time, and is disappointed if another student is already in the playground before he gets there.

If the school staff feels that the temperature is too cold, they allow students to come inside before the bell rings. While most students take advantage of this, BL refuses to go inside before the bell. We are often the only people on the playground on cold mornings, while the rest of the student body hides inside.

One advantage of being out alone in the morning is that you can do things that are forbidden by playground supervisors. This includes sliding on the icy hill just outside the schoolyard fence. BL demonstrates the front and butt-slide techniques.
